Mercy at Miramont

Mercy at Miramont

Date:
Monday, December 23, 2024

Description:
17 years ago, the Manitou Springs Historical Society of Miramont Castle began "Mercy at Miramont." The Manitou Springs Historical Society envisioned the idea of opening the Castle to families in our community, who are going through difficult financial times during the holidays. With the Castle beautifully decorated, we provide an experience of a lifetime for these incredible families by preparing individual invitations for the families, and spending all of December selecting gifts, and toys for each child, based off their likes, and needs. We provide a lavish dinner, a reading of "The Night Before Christmas," and a special apperance by a certain jolly fellow.

We partner with the Manitou Springs Volunteer Fire Department, Community Partnership for Child Development (Head Start), and Catholic Charities in bringing Christmas to selected families from surrounding areas. There are no paid workers at this event, and all help is given by volunteering by the Miramont Castle staff, and these partners. It is our goal to create a magical night of warmth, love, and Christmas cheer.

If you wish to financially contribute to this cause, all donations for this event will be used exclusively for gifts for the children, and for the meals provided. All donations are tax deductible. Please help us make this event special for those in need.

Contact [email protected], or call (719) 685-1011 for more information about donating.

This is a private event -- the Tea Room will be closed in preparation for the Mercy dinner for the families. The Castle will remain open during the day of December 23 for tours.

Closed December 24th, 25th, and 31st annually.
